Paints (inks and pigments) analysis and application is something that Labman has become more involved with over the years and has proven to be very useful in a number of areas.
Our TIDAS paints analysis system is one of our products that we make repeat units of and have sold worldwide to a number of companies. This system grades paint that has been applied to a Hegmann micron gauge in order to judge the 'grittyness' of the sample. This system has come to replace a manual process that was proven to be very subjective and unreliable due to the differences in operators gradings of the samples on the gauge blocks.
Paints application systems allow exact amounts of paint/similar substances to be applied to a surface in exact quantities, patterns and temperatures. Due to the repeatability of our robotic systems we are able to repeatably apply paint to a surface with extreme accuracy.
