Mineral Ore FTIR Analysis
This particular system automates the bauxite presentation for Fourier Transform Infrared Analysis (FTIR) for a large mining operation in Australia. Ground ‘dirt’ samples are placed within bar coded, standard envelopes. The envelopes are robotically opened and a small 'scoop' of sample is taken and placed into a crucible on a rotating carousel. The sample surface is 'scraped' flat within the crucible and presented to the FTIR analyser. After analysis the crucibles are emptied and cleaned for further samples. Throughput is up to 3000 samples per 16 hour run. Control samples can be incorporated for QC and calibration purposes. A user-friendly, graphical, programmable Windows interface completes the system specification. Data handling to and from LIMS systems is readily incorporated.Related Systems
