HPLC and Karl Fischer Sample Preparation

Click to enlarge Solvent addition and ultrasonic agitation for complete mixing prepares the samples for HPLC and Karl Fischer port injection. The 3m long XYZ robot is set up to process macro commands from a remote supervisory system which looks after the instrument data analysis and requests any relevant blanks and controls. The system incorporates bar code reading and data base analysis to compare operator filled vials with the tare weight. The robot can reach almost the entire enclosed and screened off area for subsequent addition of GC and other analytical processes. Liquid handling is contained within predefined protocols on the Gilson 233 auto sampler. This allows for easier validation of steps which were originally validated using the Gilson.
