Karl Fischer Analysis

Click to Enlarge Karl Fischer analysis is a classic technique for determining moisture in powders and liquids. Labman has developed a complete system to automate this process for continuous unattended operation. The system includes dry powder injection, liquid injection, a mixing station, a Karl Fisher titration cell (Metrohm Titrino) and data handling system. Dry powder injection is accomplished by weighing the container and sample before injection and then weighing the container and residue after injection using a computer controlled balance (+/- 0.2mg tolerance). The specifications for the mixing station has been extensively researched and incorporates a combination of diluter/dispenser, ultra sonic mixer and a vortex generating, spinning robot wrist to ensure complete dissolution. The whole system is PC controlled and data output can be integrated into a LIMS system.
