Dissolution and HPLC vial preparation

Click to Enlarge Samples are weighed, diluents added, votexed with ultrasound and finally they are injected into GC vials through 5 micron filter discs. The samples are weighed on a Mettler five place SAG balance within a special draught shield. The shield prevents draughts from warm samples stopping the balance stabilising. There is a small bar code reader and a turntable to ensure the code is read. The vortex ultrasound unit has a Labman patent. The vortexer is mounted over an ultrasound bath with flow through pump. The pump ensures the water level is constant and prevents too much heat build up. The dissolved samples are aspirated via a sample loop and pushed through a filter disc. The filter disc changer has a carousel for 120 filters. The GC vial injection includes a purge facility for Argon or other inert gas and allows the fill volume to displace the gas through a vent needle. The process times, line washes and air gaps, diluents, and volumes are all programmable. The input and output data can be in many formats and the system status and alarms communicated via LAN, email or phone.
