MDI Canister Autotester

The MDI Autotester system tests MDI (Metered Dose Inhaler) aerosol canisters for drug delivery to the lungs using a shaker more alike with that of human shaking motions than any system developed previously. It uses a custom built drive to act like a human arm shaking each can.
The system picks MDI canisters from two racks, and services two shaking arms using pre-defined shaking patterns (so keeping all testing the same and reducing the errors found due to different operators testing the canisters). Each canister is weighed, fired and analysed multiple times to generate accurate data of how each canister performs over its lifetime. Batch testing of the canisters indicates the accuracy of drug dispensing and variations between batches and valves.
