System Overview.

The robot that Labman supplied to Evotec is another example of a fully bespoke system designed around the user requirements. The robot is a typical vial weighing system incorporating an electronic analytical balance and barcode reader. This weighing system differs in that it has a sample tray stacker attached to one end of the robot framework to increase the capacity without significantly increasing the footprint. The stacker has a capacity for up to 40 sample trays. Each tray can hold a number of different sample vial rack formats by means of a dowel system to ensure that the racks are securely locked into place. The system has fully configurable software which enables the operator to configure new consumable types which were not specified at the time of the robot development.
