Labman were delighted to host HRH, the Princess Royal, yesterday, October 10th, 2017, in a visit to officially open the brand-new extension of our HQ. She was provided with lunch in one of our newly renovated board rooms before being given a short tour around many of the automated systems being built on the factory floor, allowing her to meet many of the staff. As she left, robotic arms waved union jacks with much aplomb, marking what has been a very exciting and memorable day for Labman.

The extension, which has tripled the size of the original factory, is already filling up fast with orders for systems from all over the world. The £2M Formulation Engine for Liverpool University’s new state-of-the-art Materials Innovation Factory, would have been impossible to build without the extended floor space. Other systems, including plate spinners, dispensing robots, and a cryogenic freezing system commissioned for The Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, are in various stages of construction across the new facility, and there is a real buzz of activity and progress in the building.

“It’s been a fantastic day,” said Labman’s MD Andrew Whitwell, “We’ve been honoured to host Princess Anne at our facility, and we’re thrilled that she’s been so encouraging of our work and continued investment in people.” As we look to increase the size of our operations, so too are we increasing the size of the workforce, with openings, including apprenticeships and placements, in many different engineering disciplines available at www.labmanautomation.com/jobs.

Some of Labman’s customers visited the new facility from as far afield as the USA to meet HRH The Princess Royal and to demonstrate why they were utilising Labman’s unique expertise to automate their workflows. Many local residents from Seamer and Stokesley also joined the large crowd of Labman engineers and local dignitaries to greet Princess Anne and welcome in an exciting new chapter for Labman and our local area.
