An internship at Labman is an internship like no other. In my eleven weeks at Labman I have done a lot, apart from making the cups of tea. From the first week, I was working on challenging programming problems for real clients on live projects. Since then I have been working on a variety of projects, each with their own challenges that keep it interesting. Everyone at Labman is very welcoming and helpful. If you need help with a project everyone is more than happy to lend a hand. I came to Labman as a Software technician intern, but while at Labman I have also broadened my electrical and mechanical knowledge whilst working on projects.

The culture at Labman is one of the main things that makes the company stand out. One of the perks of working at Labman is the one-hour lunch breaks that allow you plenty of time to get involved in the lunchtime activities. At Labman HQ there is a rock wall, squash court, table tennis table, pool table, classic arcade machine and plenty of firepoles. If the weather is nice enough, you may also find the staff playing a game of cricket.  There is also lots to do outside of work. Once a week the employees play football and go Ice skating. To top it all off Labman hosts Labfest, their yearly summer party.

I have had more experience and learned more about programming and engineering at Labman in eleven weeks than I probably will in 3 years at university. From the outset, you are treated as part of the team and given real responsibilities. I would highly recommend an internship at Labman to anyone wanting to gain valuable industry experience and enjoy their summer.
