SPECTROPHOTOMETER AND PROFILOMETER IN HIGH THROUGHPUT MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
System Overview.
Labman integrated a spectrophotometer and LASER profilometer into a high throughput measurement system which was installed in the UK in 2008. The system measures the sample thickness using a LASER profilometer with resolution of 0.5um, which is moved over the surface using a raster scanning technique. After the sample thickness is measured the spectrophotometer is used to analyse the sample colour. Ideal measurement locations are identified using a digital camera with bespoke lighting and image analysis written by Labman. The system has capacity for 120 samples which are measured overnight and completed by the morning. After the process is complete the system’s software analyses all the data providing many forms of quantitative analysis of the sample.
