Custom project

Image analysis, database & labelling system

A system to image, analyse, data manage and label life science samples in a cleanroom environment
Labman custom system: Image analysis, database & labelling system

Key features

Image AnalysisImaging & grading of life-science tissue samples
QC Process WizardEasy-to-use wizard style process for in-line QC
Data ManagementBuilt in database for samples, images, product information etc.
LabellingCustom label printing to prepare for distribution
Barcode ReadingSamples barcodes are scanned as the sample is imaged.
Cleanroom CompatibleA ‘wipeable’ design makes the system compatible with GMP grade D cleanroom requirements.

This system was commissioned by a UK based company, as part of an Innovate UK grant, to conduct image analysis on tissue samples. The tissue samples are ultimately used in cutting edge and market disrupting regenerative therapies.

The system, which can operate inside a grade D good manufacturing practice (GMP) cleanroom environment, runs an easy-to-use wizard allowing lab technicians to process tissue samples. The system first images the tissue samples & analyses them as part of an in-line quality assessment (QC) process, eventually outputting a ‘grade’ that the sample has met internal and external product guidelines and regulations. The system also allows for product traceability throughout such as by scanning a barcode on the sample’s packet to link raw materials to product information together. All images and data are stored securely, and key product information is printed into a custom label format preparing the product for distribution.

All information can be readily exported in .csv format for data analysis and for incorporation into a quality management system (QMS).

“The newest model of TIDAS instruments is being put through rigorous evaluation and constant use. The upgrades to the software and automatic draw-down device have made this newest member of the TIDAS family an indispensable must have. The results obtained from the TIDAS instruments have made it easy to show our customers the reality of lab grind analysis without putting o a lab coat, for this we are grateful. Thanks to the Labman team for the great support and superb customer service. The transition from installation to full practice was a snap.”
